Linda Behr
Cheer Advisor at California High School

Cheer Advisor at California High School for the past 20 years. In addition to running the cheer program, I am also the Activities Director where we work in conjunction with the cheer team to plan and implement rallies to generate spirit and enthusiasm on our campus. I work hard to instill in my cheerleaders the importance of developing team unity, school spirit, honesty, integrity, time management, physical fitness, pride, enthusiasm, community awareness, and self esteem by being a positive role models on our campus. We support all teams on campus by providing signs, candy grams, and attending the home games of ALL sports.

In addition to supporting others on campus, we have developed Nationally ranked competition teams. From our Freshmen, JV, Mascots, and Varsity members we combine to form competition teams. I believe in allowing our athletes to compete in different specialties in accordance with their talents. Our cheerleaders compete sometimes in up to four categories. These teams must still fulfill their obligation to the sports teams at Calhi while practicing and performing at competitions. The California High School Pepsters have earned numerous National championship titles through the years and this past year our school competed in seven different National divisions.

My association with GSSA began when I was asked to speak at the very first conference. Through the years my experiences have been invaluable. Whether it be mentoring other coaches & advisors, learning new material, networking, presenting, or gaining new vendor contacts it has been an incredible journey.
