All-Star Elite Cheer
In every aspect of my cheerleading life I have viewed teaching the skills necessary secondary to teaching life skills. I am acutely aware that I am leaving an imprint on the life of a child with every word and action I make. The programs I have worked with have had success on many levels but the personal achievements for me are not the awards, titles or jackets, as they are a result of the collaboration of many. My success is measured by watching the athletes perform at a level they never thought possible. Or, by seeing the shy kid who never thought she could win become a national champion! The athlete who became a national champion after 7 years of losing and as we locked eyes seeing pure joy beaming from her soul. The same athlete who decided to become a coach because she wanted to leave a positive impression on a child’s life as I had done for her. My biggest personal achievement is helping to make a place where kids can go and feel emotionally safe from the negatives in their life. To be able to provide them an atmosphere that nurtures collaboration, kindness, gratitude and sportsmanship. To help them see that they can be themselves in a world that wants them to be like everybody else. My personal achievements are not placed on a wall or hanging in my closet, but in my heart that has been touched by hundreds of young athletes and memories to look back on for a lifetime.
